Reporting Guidelines
CivTiq is a platform for responsible civic engagement. Every report you submit helps keep your community safe and well-maintained. Please follow these guidelines to ensure your reports are effective.
1. Only Report Real Violations
Submit reports only for genuine violations you witness in person. False or fraudulent reports will result in account suspension and affect your reputation score.
2. Take Clear Photos
Your report requires three photos: front of the vehicle (showing license plate), the full scene, and a side angle showing context (signs, hydrants, markings). Make sure photos are well-lit and in focus.
3. Be at the Scene
Submit your report while you are physically present near the violation. GPS location is automatically captured and verified by the city. Reports from incorrect locations will be rejected.
4. Select the Correct Violation Type
Choose the violation type that best matches what you observe. If you're unsure, include photos of any relevant signage — the city reviewer can re-classify if needed.
5. Respect Privacy
Do not include photos of people's faces or any personal information beyond what is visible on the vehicle. CivTiq protects reporter identity — your name is never shared with vehicle owners.
6. No Duplicate Reports
Check your recent reports before submitting. If a vehicle has already been reported at the same location, a duplicate report will be rejected and may affect your reputation.
7. Your Reputation Matters
Your reputation score reflects the quality of your reports. Approved reports increase your score, rejected reports decrease it. Higher reputation unlocks achievements and shows the city that your reports are reliable.
Violations of These Rules
Repeated false reports, harassment, or misuse of the platform will result in account suspension. CivTiq reserves the right to restrict access for users who violate community standards.
