CivTiq Inc. ("CivTiq", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This notice explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used.
What We Collect
- Account information: Email address and display name when you create an account.
- Location data: GPS coordinates at the time of report submission, used to verify the violation location.
- Photos: Images you capture during the reporting process. Photos are stored securely and never saved to your device camera roll.
- Vehicle information: License plate numbers, make, and model as captured in your report photos.
- Usage data: Report history, reputation scores, and app interaction data.
How We Use Your Data
- To process violation reports and share them with the appropriate municipal authority.
- To calculate your reputation score and track your reporting history.
- To notify you of updates to your reports (approved, rejected, etc.).
- To generate anonymized statistics for city impact dashboards.
Your Identity is Protected
Your personal identity is never shared with vehicle owners or the public. City administrators see only your anonymous user code (e.g., User #A3F2) — never your name or email address. Anonymous reporting is also available.
Data Isolation
Each municipality using CivTiq has its own isolated data environment. Your reports and data are only visible to the city where you submitted them. No city can access another city's data.
Data Storage and Security
All data is stored on secure servers in Canada (Montreal, QC) using industry-standard encryption. Photos are stored in private, access-controlled storage. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at privacy@civtiq.com. Account deletion will remove your profile but submitted reports may be retained in anonymized form by the municipality.
