How Reporting Works
When you submit a report, it goes to your city's review team. They check the photos, location, and violation type before approving or rejecting it. You'll receive an alert when your report is reviewed.
Your Reputation Explained
Your reputation score reflects how reliable and consistent a reporter you are. It ranges from 0 to 5 stars and is calculated from two things:
Accuracy (70% of your score)
The percentage of your reviewed reports that get approved. A higher approval rate means a higher accuracy score.
Volume (30% of your score)
How many reports you've had reviewed in total. Consistent reporters who submit more reports are rewarded with a volume bonus.
Important
Pending reports never count toward your score. Only reports that have been approved or rejected are included.

How to Submit a Great Report
High quality reports get approved more often and build your reputation faster.
- Take a clear, well-lit photo showing the full violation
- Make sure the license plate is visible and readable in every photo
- Use the GPS button — never type your location manually
- Select the correct violation type from the list
- Add notes if the situation is unusual or unclear
Review Priority
Your reputation tier affects how quickly your reports are reviewed:
Account Standing
CivTiq monitors report quality to maintain trust with city partners. Accounts with persistent low accuracy (below 1.5 stars) may be flagged for review by city administrators. Submitting false or low-quality reports repeatedly may result in account suspension.
Your Privacy
Anonymous reports are accepted but cannot contribute to your reputation score. Create an account to track your impact and build your standing in the community.
